Zoey’s Maple Bread Pudding

10 ounces stale bread broken into large pieces
one half cup melted butter
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup Vermont maple syrup
1 tablespoon maple flavoring
3 eggs – well beaten
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter or grease 13″ x 9″ pan. Place bread in a large bowl. In another bowl combine all the other ingredients until blended. Pour over the bread and toss until all the pieces are moist.

Place the combined mixture in the greased pan. Bake uncovered in middle of oven until the top is golden brown (about one hour).

Serve with whipped cream and a little Vermont maple syrup on top.
